Currently available new in the UK? Ssangyong, Mitsubishi, Lexus.
All three make some (in my opinion) hideous cars in their lineup.

There’s always a select few cars from every brand I want to buy, so I can’t answer this 100%.
Audi, except a blue over white B8 S5 coupe 6spd. I feel it’s one of their few cars that has character.
Subaru, except a BRZ limited. AWD is overrated
Aston Martin, except a Rapide S. I’m not a fan of their coupes.

Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge.
There’s a theme there-

Bentley (even if I had the money it’s a poor person’s Rolls Royce), Land Rover, and Hyundai.

None, because I’m not some close-minded brand snob who goes “I hate every car from X company because they’re all shit, Y company because they have no soul, and Z company because the owners suck.”
Now brace yourselves for a ration of that.

I’m a live and let live kind of enthusiast who loves trying just about everything so there are very few. Let me think...
Saturn. Anything decent that they made could be had under a different brand, and everything that was unique to them was crap. Unreliable and shitty crap. Sure, it was an interesting exercise. But I would never, ever own a Saturn. (Except maybe an Astra, but Opel badges would go on the next day.)
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Smart. I’m sure they’re excellent, but I could never live with one on my own. Even in the case of the Forfour, the trouble is that I rarely do city driving and San Francisco is pretty easy even in a giant land-barge like my XC70 so I don’t have any use for a top-heavy little hatch. The Roadster, well, I’d have a Boxster or something instead. (or a MR2, S2000, etc.)
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Really, I can’t think of anything else... Suggestions, anyone?

Same. I tried though, with the idea that certain cars brands just aren’t useful/relevant to me.

I’m assuming this means brand new, so...
Now that the Evo’s done, you probably won’t ever find me in a Mitsubishi.
Tesla, until they make a design I actually like and fix all those build issues.
Reason from Tesla applies to Lincoln as well.

Every time I see one I wish I’d grow 100 feet tall so I could just punt the little joker into a building.
Yo it’s like when I was forced to watch half of some Roman Polanski musical by my Polish grandparents this morning. Every second I wanted to rip the banjo out of his hands and just feckin beat him to death with it. Rapey asshole.
fuck smarts

Mitsubishi, unless they come out with something I’d actually want that doesn’t fall apart after 60k miles
Ferrari (not that I have the money), but none of them interest me outside of wanting to drive one. Except the classics of course but I’m talking modern, new cars.
Anything by FCA except maybe a Wrangler. They killed the Viper so they don’t make anything that I’d want that someone else doesn’t do better.
Someone else mentioned Smart. I have nothing against them but the ForTwo doesn’t fit anywhere in my life. I do a lot of highway driving and have 4 dogs and a fiancée. My current car is also a work car and the hatch area is used regularly. If I were a big city dweller with no pets or one dog, maybe.

I agree on Aston Martin, except for the DB11. I think it’s the best looking car they’ve made since the DB6. I think the other’s are incredibly dated.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 16:20 |

From the Tesla owners I’ve talked to, the quality issues are vastly overblown.

I’m starting to warm up to the DB11, but I’m not 100% sold on it.

For the most part, I’d buy from pretty much any brand, but Hyundai and Kia(aside from the Niro) are on my shit list.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 16:21 |

I dunno. For every great Saturn story, there are just as many that turn out like this. I mean, I’m not saying others haven’t had great experiences with them, just that I don’t find the risk worth it to myself. (And the non-Saturn decent cars I was thinking of were like the Astra-Opel and the Sky-Pontiac).

I know not all of them have the issues, but there are records of Model Xs that have worse gaps than my mom’s 04 Colorado. That’s simply inexcusable.

Subaru. Cause f changing those spark plugs and headgaskets. And building the motors is a pain. And a stock block DSM will walk one all day.
Honda. FWD sucks no matter how much you rice it out from the factory
Chevy. Ford does it all better. Especially trucks.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 16:33 |

Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi...... The first two are bland, the last one makes all around uncompetitive products that have a distinct 1990s penalty box feel to them.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 16:37 |

Mazda because everyone who’s never driven a sports car seems to act like their Mazda6 is a sports car.
Subaru because they’re not all that.
Toyota because beige.

I try not to be biased for the most part, but I have a thing against GM products.

1. Any of the Iron Curtain brands, since most of their stuff was a bit rubbish. Even then there are plenty of exceptions (the Niva, Volga, ZIL, Tatra, the Stratopolonez and of course recent Škodas and Dacia to name a few).
2. Some rebadging factories, I prefer other VW AG brands to Seat, most Saturns never caught my attention, pretty sure no one has imported a Geo to my side of the pond etc. I’m not against these brands, they’ll just never cross me.
3. Anything which I’d have no chance of buying in the first place. I’m not talking about hyper-expensive exotics (you never know what may happen), I’m just acknowledging I’ll probably never something as obscure as this:
http://jalopnik.com/gurgel-may-be-the-weirdest-car-company-ever-1441920859
So brands don’t really matter in the end, I like some cars from just about every major car company. I’m not willing to everything off like this.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 16:47 |

Ferrari. Fuck those assholes. Nice cars but the company is run exclusively by elitist douche bags.
New GM, rip Pontiac never forget.
Volkswagen. Electrics and my buddies lightly used gti that ate its camshaft. Bundle of nope.

Chevrolet, Hyundai and Peugeot. Just because their sister companies are better and they don’t offer any products that interest me.

I do love me a good Fiat.
And as for Hyundai? Yes.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 17:01 |

The only ones I can think of for me, if we are talking new, are FCA products, particularly Fiats. The reliability and quality scores just scare me away. Even with a warranty, problems are still annoying and inconvenient.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 17:03 |

Less about the brand really, more about the kind of car.
When I was looking at Valka, my requirement was simple: compact, 4-doors, RWD, manual, 4-cylinders. I’m pretty much down to only Cadillac and BMW.
I mean heck if Toyota started making Altezzas again, I’ll consider it.

Well as I was saying it’s not the worst, but I’d personally choose other two-seaters over it. Which is fine, of course, it’s just what brand I wouldn’t buy, not what brands I think others shouldn’t.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 17:13 |

GM, the non-italian branches of FCA, Toyota/Lexus (gt86 excluded as it’s a Subaru), Nissan, Hyundai, Kia.
But never say never.

Ford, Lincoln, and GMC. I really have no reasons for Ford or Lincoln other than they just do absolutely nothing to excite me. Just absolutely no interest.
As for GMC, I typically like the Chevy version better, but also just don’t love SUVs. The only unique vehicles I can remember them ever offering are the Typhoon/Cyclone and the Envoy XUV.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 17:57 |

Bugatti, Konigzegggegg, Zonda
Even if I had the money I wouldn’t drop that kind of cash on ONE car.
![]() 06/25/2017 at 18:03 |

Yes so much this!
I have my preferences, and cars I don’t like. And I like to kid with Chevy fans that their cars are junk, but really there’s no car I would rule out just because “X brand of car s all crap”. Heck the car I have right now is from a brand I don’t love, and that in my mind doesn’t have a great reputation. But I’m glad I didn’t rule it out.

1. Nissan (includes Infiniti as well.) Because unethical lending practices
2. Honda (unless they miraculously simultaneously start making cars that I care about and give Alonso a Grand Prix winning power unit)
3. Toyota (until they start applying better business and finance ethics to selling their new vehicles)
4. Mitsubishi because dying car brand and same as Nissan
5. Subaru because boring on a molecular level and I’m not impressed by anything they have ever made.
6. BMW because I have grown up.
7. Fiat
8. Chrysler
9. Rolls Royce, because I’m realistic

2. Smart
3. Mitsubishi
Brands that I avoid:
Honda/Acura — boring, beige and down right ugly. Used to be a Honda fan. That stopped years ago.
Toyota/Lexus — mostly boring, VERY beige and most are down right ugly
